The idea of Cubs fans cheering for the Cardinals seems almost sacrilegious. However, Cubs fans find themselves in just that position as St. Louis takes on Pittsburgh in a three game series starting Tuesday.

The Cubs currently sit in third place in the National League Central, behind both the Cardinals and Pirates. St. Louis has 8.5 games on the Cubs. Pittsburgh has 3.5 on the Cubs, both teams still hold a Wild Card spot.

With the Cardinals and Pirates starting their series, Cubs fans seem to be reluctantly pulling for the Cardinals. Although no one seems happy about it.

As tough as it is to stomach for Cubs fans, this is reality in the Wild Card age.
