The Notre Dame football program announced the new “Shamrock Series” uniform on Thursday, and coach Brian Kelly forced walk-on running back Josh Anderson to model it.

After Kelly explained the symbols on the jersey, he elucidated why Anderson, a senior, was chosen to pose with the new uniform. Anderson thought he was just modeling the uniform, but the senior walk-on was in for a surprise.
He’s a great model, that’s why I brought him up here, Kelly began. He models a lot of the things that are right with Notre Dame football. He’s worked hard since he’s come here, he’s worked hard and today, Josh, congratulations, we’re awarding you a scholarship.
Anderson has never seen playing time while at Notre Dame, but with Greg Bryant suspended for the first four games, Anderson could finally receive some carries in the backfield.
