Four Cubs minor leaguers combined to throw a no-hitter Sunday for the Class-A Eugene Emeralds.

Preston Morrison, Kyle Twomey, Luis Hernandez and Trey Masek earned the minor league team’s first no-hitter since 1968 in a 3-0 win over Everett.

Morrison, in his first season out of TCU, was perfect in his three inning start with four strikeouts. Twomey, who earned the win, issued a walk in the fourth inning.

Hernandez pitched a perfect seventh but walked two batters in the eighth. Then, with runners at first and third, a sharp liner to third was snagged by Blake Headley to end the threat. Masek, a fifth-round pick by the Cubs in 2013 out of Texas Tech, picked up the save by tossing a 1-2-3 ninth inning.

The four pitchers combined to strike out 12 batters and issued three walks. The Eugene defense also made one error.
