A man was slashed with a box cutter during an argument Monday eveningnear 39th Street Beach in the Oakland neighborhood on the South Side.

The 20-year-old was arguing with a female outside in the 3900 block of South Lake Shore Drive about 5:45 p.m., police said. During the argument, the female produced a box cutter and cut him on the arm.

He was taken to Mercy Hospital and Medical Center, where his condition was stabilized, police said.
