Comedienne Rosie O’Donnell tweeted out the news this evening: Her missing 17-year-old daughter Chelsea has been found and is with New York Police.

According to TMZ.com “Police found Chelsea and Bear in the town of Barnegat Light on the Jersey shore … roughly 130 miles south of Rosie’s home in Rockland County, NY. Law enforcement sources tell us Chelsea was located by pinging a cell phone she’d used.”

In a statement Tuesday, prior to the news of Chelsea’s return, a family spokesperson said:

“Chelsea, like millions of people, lives with mental illness. It has been a difficult road for Chelsea and her family, and they just want her back safe.”

In a statement on her website, O’Donnell said earlier in the day: Chelsea had stopped taking medication for an undisclosed mental illness and was in need of medical attention.”
