A man was shot to death less than a block from his home in the Greater Grand Crossing neighborhood Wednesday afternoon.

Dwayne L. Thomas, 20, was shot in the neck in the 7400 block of South Harvard about 1:20 p.m., according to police and the Cook County medical examiner’s office

Thomas, who lived on the same block, was taken to Advocate Christ Medical Center in Oak Lawn, where he was pronounced dead at 2:09 p.m., according to the medical examiner’s office.
