Eight burglaries have been reported in the Chicago Lawn neighborhood since the beginning of the month, police said.

In these incidents, the burglars entered either through a rear or side window or door and took items from the residences, according to a community alert from Area Central detectives issued Wednesday.

The burglaries occurred:

  • In the 3700 block of West 66th at 11:00 a.m. Aug. 10;
  • In the 3700 block of West 65th at 10:00 p.m. Aug. 11;
  • In the 3500 block of West 63rd at 7:00 a.m. Aug. 16;
  • In the 3500 block of West 63rd at 7:59 .m. Aug. 17;
  • In the 7000 block of South Rockwell at 10:00 p.m. Aug. 9;
  • In the 7000 block of South Maplewood at 7 p.m. Aug. 12;
  • In the 6900 block of South Campbell at 4:00 p.m. Aug. 13;
  • In the 2400 block of West Lithuanian Plaza Court at 7:30 a.m. Aug. 16.
