The Cubs signed former Atlanta Braves pitcher Trevor Cahill to a minor league contract on Wednesday.

Cahill played for the Oakland Athletics, Arizona Diamondbacks and Atlanta during his seven-year career. The former Athletics pitcher was an All-Star selection in 2010 with Oakland when he was 18-8 with a 2.97 ERA.

Before being released by the Braves, Cahill was 0-3 with a 7.52 ERA in three starts and 15 game appearances.

Cahill will report to Triple-A Iowa this week.
