An argument between two brothers turned violent when one stabbed the other last week in northwest Indiana.

Gervis Carter, 30, of Gary, is charged with aggravated battery and battery by means of a deadly weapon after stabbing his brother in the early morning hours of August 7, said Gary police in a statement.

Information on the brother’s age and condition were not immediately available.

Carter is not in custody at this time. Anyone who has information on Carter’s whereabouts should call the Violent Crimes Division at (219) 881-1210.
