A man was shot and critically wounded during a robbery Friday night in Washington Heights on the Far South Side.

The 29-year-old man was in an alley in the 10200 block of South Lowe at 10:07 p.m. when someone walked up and announced a robbery, police said.

The robber then pulled out a gun and shot then man in the chest, before running away with his property, police said.

The man was taken to Advocate Christ Medical Center in Oak Lawn in critical condition, police said.
