SHARE Strong-arm robberies reported on Northwest Side

Police are warning residents about a series of strong-arm robberies reported this week on the Northwest Side.

In each of the reported incidents, a man has approached a female victim, demanded her chain or necklace and grabbed it from her neck, according to a community alert from Chicago Police.

The robberies took place:

  • In the 3500 block of West Montrose about 11 a.m. Aug. 17;
  • In the 4000 block of West School about 10:30 a.m. Aug. 18;
  • In the 3400 block of West Lawrence about 11 a.m. Aug. 20.

The suspect in the robberies is described as a 20 to 35-year-old Hispanic man with dark hair standing 5-foot-6 to 5-foot-9 and weighing 160 to 170 pounds, police said.
