A 19-year-old man was shot and critically wounded in an Austin neighborhood shooting late Thursday.

About 11:45 p.m., the man was standing outside in the 4800 block of West Jackson when someone in a passing white vehicle shot him in the chest, police said.

He was taken to Stroger Hospital in critical condition, police said.
