INDIANAPOLIS — Receiver Marquess Wilson’s right hamstring is fine. That’s what he repeatedly said after he pulled up on a long pass from Jay Cutler, clutched his hamstring in process and was deemed questionable to return.

“It’s good,” Wilson said after the Bears’ 23-11 exhibition win against the Colts at Lucas Oil Stadium on Saturday. “Everything is good.”

After getting stretched by the trainers, Wilson did return after his injury. He made a nine-yard reception on a crossing route, which included breaking a tackle.

But Wilson did not join the No. 1 offense for its possession in the second quarter.

The Bears sided with caution. Alshon Jeffery (mild calf strain) missed his second preseason game and rookie Kevin White (stress fracture in left shin) is out indefinitely.

“I don’t think [Wilson’s injury is] overly serious,” coach John Fox said.

Leno gets the start

As expected, Charles Leno Jr., a seventh-round pick last year, started at right tackle in place of Jordan Mills.

Leno was penalized for grabbing the facemask of Colts outside linebacker Erik Walden, who beat him off the edge, on the Bears’ third offensive play. It negated a 42-yard pass from Cutler to Josh Bellamy.

“I just got my hand in his face and [the official] clearly saw it,” Leno said. “After that, I just had to go back to technique and get my hands inside.”

The injury report

Safety Ryan Mundy (hip), cornerback Tracy Porter (hamstring), running back Daniel Thomas (knee), tight end Chris Pantale (illness) and offensive Jason Weaver (stinger) did not play.

Defensive lineman Cornelius Washington also did not dress.
