A man was shot to death early Saturday in northwest Indiana.

Samuel Aghimien, 23, was shot in the 500 block of East 149th Street in East Chicago, Ind., according to the Lake County coroner’s office.

Aghimien, of the 900 block of Summer Street in Hammond, was pronounced dead at 3:31 a.m., the coroner’s office said. His death was ruled a homicide.

East Chicago police could not immediately provide further details about the shooting Saturday afternoon.
