A 16-year-old boy was shot early Sunday in the Chicago Lawn neighborhood on the Southwest Side.
About 12:30 a.m., the teenager was with a group in the 6000 block of South Western when an argument developed and someone pulled out a gun and fired shots, police said.
The boy was shot in the lower back and taken to Stroger Hospital, where his condition was stabilized, police said.
A police source said the teenager is a documented gang member.
