While Joe Maddon has brought a positive attitude to the Cubs, he’s also been cautious about being overly optimistic with his young team. Live in the moment, he preaches.

Today, he let his guard down. During an interview with ESPN’s “Waddle & Silvy,” the Cubs manager told the radio hosts that his team has a realistic shot at winning the World Series this season.

And, why not? They just became the first Cubs team since 1945—the last time the North Siders made a World Series appearance—to pull off four four-game sweeps in a season.

This isn’t the first time Maddon has mentioned Cubs and World Series in the same breath.
