Chicago Police are cautioning Austin residents after a pair of armed robberies in the West Side neighborhood over the last month.

A man brandishing a handgun has approached people from behind and taken their belongings, according to a community alert issued Monday.

The first robbery happened about 12:45 am. on July 31 in the 5100 block of West Kinzie, police said. The other was reported about 12:10 a.m. on Aug. 11 in the 600 block of North Leclaire.

Police do not have a detailed description of the robber.
