Authorities are searching for a van stolen containing several dozen handmade Turkish rugs that was stolen over the weekend from the Irving Park neighborhood on the Northwest Side.

The 2013 Ford Econoline 100 van was stolen from the 3300 block of West Irving Park Road between 10 p.m. Saturday and 9:30 a.m. Sunday, according to an alert issued by Albany Park District police.

The van contained numerous handmade Turkish rugs of various colors and sizes, police said. It has a Texas license plate of CLS2133.

Anyone who sees a van matching that description, and anyone approached about buying Turkish rugs, is asked to call police.
