Bad Rex. Good Rex. Doesn’t matter. The NFL will take him either way.

Rex Grossman hasn’t taken a snap in the league since 2011, but the Atlanta Falcons have made the former Bears quarterback their backup to Matt Ryan.

Grossman, 35, came into the league with the Bears in 2003 as the 22nd overall pick. In six seasons with the Bears, he was 19-12 as a starter, including a 13-3 record in 2006. Grossman took the Bears to the Super Bowl that season but lost 29-17 to the Colts. After leaving the Bears in 2008, he played sparingly with the Texans and Redskins. In 2014, he was cut by the Browns in training camp.
