Man shot in West Elsdon

A man was shot early Wednesday in the West Elsdon neighborhood on the Southwest Side.

The shooting happened about 4:30 a.m. in the 5800 block of South Springfield, police said.

The man, 32, was found near 55th and Pulaski with a gunshot wound to the right thigh, police said. He was taken in good condition to Advocate Christ Medical Center in Oak Lawn.

It was not known how the man traveled roughly three blocks as he was not cooperating with investigators, police said.
