Earlier this season, White Sox ace Chris Sale tied Hall of Fame pitcher Pedro Martinez’s record of eight consecutive starts with double-digit strikeouts.

Sale has a chance to tie another Martinez record on Wednesday night against the Red Sox.

Sale’s opportunity to tie Martinez’s record will come against the Boston Red Sox, where Martinez set the record.

Double-digit strikeouts isn’t anything new for Sale, who has recorded 10 or more strikeouts in half of his starts this season. Sale is tied with Los Angeles Dodgers pitcher Clayton Kershaw with 222 strikeouts this season, but the Dodgers starter has one more start than Sale.
