A 27-year-old woman appeared in court Thursday after being charged with promoting prostitution through an ad on Backpage.com.

An undercover police officer responded to the advertisement in the dating section of online classified ad site, an ad that appeared to be soliciting prostitution, according to the Cook County sheriff’s office.

Jessica Bealer of the 4700 block of South Calumet placed the ad on the free site, rented a room in a Schiller Park hotel, and made a profit from another woman’s prostitution, according to a statement from the sheriff’s office.

The other woman was taken into custody for prostitution, according to police.

Bealer was ordered held on a $20,000 bond Thursday, according to the Cook County state’s attorney’s office.
