A 26-year-old man was shot in the head Thursday night in the Park Manor neighborhood on the South Side.

About 9 p.m., he was riding in the back seat of a vehicle traveling west on 67th Street near Wabash when someone opened fire from the sidewalk, police News Affairs Officer Amina Greer said.

The driver took him to Saint Bernard Hospital and Health Care Center, and he later was transferred in critical condition to Stroger Hospital, Greer said.
