A 48-year-old man was shot in the abdomen Thursday afternoon in the East Garfield Park neighborhood on the West Side.

The shooting happened at 3:30 p.m. in the 3400 block of West Lexington, according to Chicago Police.

The shooter was arguing with another male, when he fired his gun and shot the 48-year-old man, police said.

He was taken to Mount Sinai Hospital where his condition was stabilized, police said.

The shooter is a known gang member, police said.
