The Lake Street Bridge over the Chicago River will be closed for maintenance work early Saturday morning, disrupting traffic and service on the CTA’s Green and Pink lines.
The bridge will be closed to traffic from 2-10 a.m., according to the Chicago Department of Transportation.
Westbound traffic will be rerouted via Wacker, Randolph and Canal, CDOT said. Eastbound traffic will be rerouted via Des Plaines, Washington and Wacker.
The closure will also affect service on the CTA Green and Pink lines from 5-10 a.m., CDOT said.
Trains will not operate between the Clinton station and the Loop, according to the CTA. Free shuttle bus service will be in place between Clinton and Clark/Lake.
Green Line trains will continue to run between the Harlem/Lake and Clinton stations, according to the CTA. Trains will also keep running between the Ashland/63rd station and the Loop or Cottage Grove. Trains will operate counterclockwise around the Outer Loop on tracks normally used by Orange and Pink Line trains.
Pink Line trains will continue to operate normally between 54th/Cermak and Clinton, according to the CTA.
Regular Green and Pink Line service is expected to resume by 10 a.m. Saturday, CDOT said.
