Jon Lester will pitch without David Ross on Saturday

View image | gettyimages.comFor the first time all season, Cubs pitcher Jon Lester will take the mound without catcher David Ross behind the plate. Ross is away from the team due to a family emergency.

Lester has been pitching to Ross since his days with the Boston Red Sox. When Lester signed with the Cubs, they signed Ross as well. Catcher Miguel Montero will catch Lester for the first time in his career.

Lester is 8-9 with 3.44 ERA and 159 strikeouts this season.
