A man was shot and seriously wounded early Friday in the Lawndale neighborhood on the Southwest Side.

The man, thought to be in his 20s, was shot in the chest about 4:25 a.m. in the 2800 block of West Fillmore, police said.

He was taken in serious condition to Mount Sinai Hospital, police said.
