Cubs rookie Kris Bryant is in the starting lineup Monday against the Pirates, one day after exiting a game with a potential head injury.

Per the Sun-Times’ own Gordon Wittenmyer, Bryant was smacked on the helmet by shortstop Jean Segura’s tag on a head-first slide into second in the fifth inning of Sunday’s 4-3 win over the Brewers. The momentum of his slide then created more contact with Segura.

He underwent concussion protocol after the game and early Monday before being cleared to play.

Bryant is batting third and playing third base.
