SHARE Police issue alert after garage burglaries in Gage Park

Police have issued an alert after four garage burglaries occurred this month in the Gage Park on the Southwest Side.

A community alert from Chicago Police said offenders enter residential garages and take property once inside.

Police said, two of the four incidents happened in the 3000 block of West 53rd Place. Once on Aug.17 at 7:00 p.m., and again Aug.18 at 12:00 a.m.

Two other garage burglaries took place on Aug. 17, in the 3100 block of West 54th Street at 7:30 p.m., and on Aug. 28 in the 3000 block of West 54th Street at 5:50 p.m., police said.

Police advise residents to keep the perimeter of their property well-lit, keep all windows and doors secured and repair any broken locks.
