A man struck by two semi trucks died Tuesday morning in northwest suburban McHenry.

Robert P. Choate, 41, was seen walking onto Route 120 near Kent Road, and was struck by a semi truck a few minutes before 9 a.m., according to a statement from the McHenry County coroner’s office.

He got up and kept walking, and was struck by a second semi, according to the statement.

The Johnsburg resident was taken to Centegra Medical Center in McHenry, where he was pronounced dead at 9:24 a.m., according to the coroner’s office.

An autopsy Wednesday found that he died of multiple injuries, according to the coroner’s office. Results of toxicology tests are pending.

The McHenry County sheriff’s office is also investigating.
