Garbage pickup has resumed in south suburban Harvey after service was disrupted Monday after the city fell behind on payments.

No trash was picked up in Harvey on Monday because the city was behind on its payment, according to a spokesman for Republic Services, the company that contracts waste collection for the south suburb.

The payment issue was resolved Tuesday morning and trash pickup was resumed, according to company.

City of Harvey spokesman Sean Harvey confirmed the collection was missed Monday but service had resumed as of Tuesday morning.
