An elderly woman and an 18-year-old man were shot Wednesday morning in the Woodlawn neighborhood on the South Side.

The shooting happened in the 800 block of East 63rd Street about 9 a.m., police said.

A 79-year-old woman was shot in the back and was taken to Stroger Hospital, police said. The man was shot in the left arm and taken University of Chicago.

Both of their conditions had stabilized.
