BOURBONNAIS — Bears wide receiver Kevin White, sidelined for the first week of training camp because of shin splints, will begin some light running next week, GM Ryan Pace told 670 AM The Score.

Coach John Fox said he has no symptoms right now.

“He looks really good,” Fox told the station. We just don’t want it flare back up, so we’re being very cautious.”

The Bears are hesitant to rush White back; after seven weeks with the injury, they don’t want to force his cardio work too soon. He’s been running in the pool.

Fox said he doesn’t think White will fall behind. That echoed statements from offensive coordinator Adam Gase, who said Wednesday the rookie’s personality would ensure that he stays on top of learning the playbook.

He started the preseason on the PUP list.
