In the bottom of the 2nd inning, Kyle Schwarber gave the Cubs a 5-0 lead with his three-run home run to right-center field off San Francisco Giants pitcher Chris Heston.

The Cubs catcher said before he hit his third home run in four games, he was looking forward to hitting a home run and hearing the crowd cheer.

I was trying to put the ball in play, hit it hard, hit it over the fence and hear the crowd more, Schwarber said. It’s awesome. These fans are the best in the Major Leagues.

Schwarber’s home run provided the Cubs with the potential winning runs as the Giants attempted a comeback by scoring four runs in the finally five innings.

Even though the rookie is struggling defensively behind the plate, Schwarber is hitting .428 with two home runs and five RBI in the last two games.
