Jimmy Butler is going to be hearing voices in his head again.

While Derrick Rose opted out of playing for USA Basketball this summer, teammate Butler made the list of 34 invitees.

It means Butler will be reunited with former Bulls coach Tom Thibodeau, who is part of coach Mike Krzyzewski’s staff.

Butler was always one of Thibs’ favorites. Was the feeling mutual? Probably, despite this little shot by Butler at the news conference for his signing.

If Butler is worried about Thibs’ intensity level, the good news is USA Baskeball chairman Jerry Colangelo has promised the three-day Las Vegas minicamp “is going to be low key with light workouts, no contact.”

USA Basketball minicamp roster
