A 20-year-old man was shot in the leg and critically injured in Austin on the West Side early Sunday.

About 12:40 a.m., he was outside in the 4800 block of West Walton when he heard shots and felt pain, according to Chicago Police.

He was taken to Mount Sinai Hospital in critical condition, police said.
