A north suburban woman died last week of injuries suffered in a three-car crash in late August near her Morton Grove home.

About 10 a.m. on Aug. 31, two cars collided at the intersection of Shermer and Beckwith roads, according to Morton Grove police. One of those cars then struck a third vehicle.

A passenger in one of the cars in the initial collision, 20-year-old Sylvia Barrows, suffered head injuries and was taken to Advocate Lutheran General Hospital in Park Ridge, according to police and the Cook County medical examiner’s office. She died there at 8:16 p.m. on Sept. 7.

Police said she wasn’t wearing a seatbelt at the time of the crash.

No charges or citations have been issued.
