SHARE 16-year-old boy shot in leg in Grand Crossing

A 16-year-old boy was shot in the leg Friday afternoon in the Grand Crossing neighborhood on the South Side.

The shooting happened about 1 p.m. in the 1200 block of East 79th Street, according to Chicago Police.

He was taken to Advocate Christ Medical Center in Oak Lawn, where his condition stabilized, police said.

The circumstances of the shooting weren’t immediately available. Police think the wound might have been self-inflicted.
