A man was shot and critically wounded early Sunday in the East Garfield Park neighborhood on the West Side.

Officers responding to a call of a person shot about 3:25 a.m. in the 3400 block of West Walnut found the man, 27, lying on the ground with a gunshot wound to the leg, police said.

He was taken in critical condition to Mount Sinai Hospital, police said.
