A man was shot early Saturday in the West Side Austin neighborhood.

The man — whose exact age was not known — was shot in the chest about 3:15 a.m. in the 5600 block of West Washington, said police News Affairs Officer Amina Greer, citing preliminary information.

He later walked into Loretto Hospital, but additional details were not immediately available, Greer said.
