A masked suspect armed with a handgun robbed a Chipotle restaurant on Monday morning in northwest suburban Park Ridge.

About 7:30 a.m., a male suspect wearing a mask entered the Chitpotle in the 100 block of South Northwest Highway as employees were preparing for the day, according to Park Ridge police.

The suspect pulled out a handgun and demanded money, a statement from police said. Employees gave him an undetermined amount of cash, and he ran from the restaurant.

He is described as a male about 5-foot-7 or 5-foot-8 and 180-200 pounds, according to Deputy Chief Lou Jogmen. He was wearing a gray jacket, white pants and white shoes.

Park Ridge detectives are investigating.
