A man was stabbed in the neck and critically wounded Monday night in the South Loop.

The attack happened about 7:30 p.m. in the 200 block of West 18th Street, according to Chicago Police.

The 28-year-old was taken to Northwestern Memorial Hospital in serious condition but was later downgraded to critical, police said.

The man was unable to tell investigators what happened because of his condition, police said.
