A teenage boy was found shot to death in his cousin’s  driveway early Thursday in west suburban Aurora.

Daniel J. Garcia was found with multiple gunshot wounds in the driveway of a home in the 0-100 block of North State Street about 2:30 a.m., Aurora spokesman Dan Ferrelli said. He was pronounced dead at the scene.

The driveway of the home where Garcia was found belonged to his cousins, one of whom was the person who called 911, Ferrelli said. However, when the cousin called police, they did not know Garcia was the victim.

Police do not know exactly what time Garcia was shot, Ferrelli said. He was last seen alive at his home in the 100 block of South State Street, about three or four blocks away, about 12:30 a.m., Ferrelli said.

A neighborhood canvas revealed that shots were heard in the area where he was found about the same time he left his home, but no one called police. There is no description of a suspect.

“Police do not have a definite motive at this time, but have not ruled out possible street gang motivation,” a statement from police said.

Anyone with information should call Aurora police  at (630) 256-5500, or Crime Stoppers at (630) 892-1000.
