Waukegan police released images Thursday in the ongoing investigation of the murder of a man was found lying dead in the street Jan. 3 in the northern suburban.

Gaylord Davis, 49, of the 2200 block of Marshall Parkway in Waukegan, was found lying in the roadway about 2:50 a.m. near 9th Street and Prescott Avenue, according to a statement from Waukegan police.

The released images are to help detectives speak to and identify an occupant of the metallic colored Jeep, who was in an altercation with Davis, police said.

Police described the occupants as a white or Hispanic female, black male and white or Hispanic man.

An autopsy showed Davis died from trauma to his body, police said.
