Two shot on Dan Ryan

Two people were shot while traveling on the Dan Ryan Expressway (I-94) on the South Side early Saturday.

The two — both males whose ages were not immediately known — were in a vehicle traveling north on the expressway near 71st Street about 2:30 a.m. when they were shot, according to Illinois State Police.

They drove themselves to an area hospital, but the severity of their injuries was not known Saturday morning, police said.

Northbound lanes of the Dan Ryan were closed as of 5:10 a.m. but were back open by 6 a.m. as police looked for evidence.
