An 11-year-old boy died late Wednesday after he was hit by accidental gunfire in a Greater Grand Crossing home.

About 9 p.m., Antwone J. Price was in a home in the 7400 block of South St. Lawrence when a family member accidentally shot him in the abdomen, police and the Cook County medical examiner’s office said.

Antwone, who lived in the same block, was taken to Comer Children’s Hospital, where he was pronounced dead, authorities said.

Officers took one person into custody after the shooting, police said.

Late Wednesday, at least eight people were killed and 12 wounded in Chicago shootings throughout the day.
