Cubs rookie Kyle Schwarber will have an MRI on his right rib area and will not be in the lineup against the Reds on Wednesday.

No one is sure when he injured the rib cage, but it might have happened Tuesday on a diving attempt in left field at a line drive off the bat of Joey Votto in the sixth inning. Schwarber laid out for the ball, but couldn’t make the grab. Votto’s double put the Reds ahead 3-1.

An inning later, Schwarber hit the game-winning home run as the Cubs defeated the Reds 5-4.
