With wins in four of his last six competitions, pro golfer Jason Day has become the No. 1 player in the world after a victory at the BMW Championship in Lake View, Ill.

Day shot -22 for the course and enjoyed a comfortable lead for most of the tournament. He would finish at BMW with a six stroke advantage over the second place Daniel Berger.

He built a comfortable lead in the first and second days with a barrage of birdies. In the first two days, Day tallied a total of 18 birdies shots or better, including eagles on the first hole on Thursday and on the 18th hole on Friday.

His win moves him ahead of the former No. 1 Rory McIllroy for the top spot.
