A man was shot in the South Shore neighborhood on the South Side Sunday afternoon.

A 19-year old man got off the bus on South Stony Island Avenue and was walking in the 7500 block of South Blackstone Avenue at 3:03 p.m. when he heard shots and felt pain, police said.

He was shot in the lower back and was taken to Jackson Park Hospital by a Good Samaritan, police said. He was later transferred to Stroger Hospital in good condition, police said.

The man is a documented gang member, police said.
