Man shot in Back of the Yards

A man was shot early Wednesday in the Back of the Yards neighborhood on the South Side.

The 19-year-old was walking in the 5100 block of South Winchester about 2:10 a.m. when someone got out of a vehicle and fired shots, police said.

He was shot in the ankle and was taken in good condition to Holy Cross Hospital, police said.

A police source said the man is a documented gang member.
